At Internal Sunshine, we provide a range of assessments for both adults and children based on their needs and reason for referral. There are a variety of ways to submit a referral for you or your child. If the referral is for your child, it can be obtained through your child’s school, family doctor, pediatrician, psychiatrist, other allied health professionals or directly through our website. Similarly, if you are an adult seeking a referral for yourself, you may obtain a referral through the above means (excluding the child’s school and family doctor) or your local GP.
All our assessments include a comprehensive report and a feedback session during which we discuss the outcome of the assessment in detail. Following this we provide you with targeted recommendations and intervention solutions to assist in moving forward. If the feedback is for your child, we can conduct the session at their school to help key staff members plan for your child’s future.
We use GOLD standard tools to identify Autism Spectrum Difference. As such we understand the importance of employing a multi-disciplinary approach to identify Autism and therefore endeavour to liaise with other health professionals to meet these standards.
We are experienced in identifying Specific Learning Disorders including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and/or Dysgraphia in both adults and children. A full assessment will assist us in identifying whether a learning difficulty or disability is present. For children at school, the process includes a cognitive assessment and an achievement assessment to gain a complete understanding of your child’s experience.
These assessments are completed to determine any underlying issues that may be hindering the performance of an individual. They can assist in identifying ASD, ADHD, and ODD, and can help manage the challenges often faced by individuals with neurodiversities.
